What does this dream mean?

I had a dream that my german shephard was outside barking to come inside (at my old house). When I looked outside, there was also a large black dog coming up the deck steps to come inside. The big black dog was injured and had a broomstick stuck in its body. Then I woke up. I appreciate any incite anyone can offer. What does this dream mean????
