Should I have a kid yet?

Me and my husband, Mark Waters, have been married since February 25, 2010 and we want to have a kid, but we don't know. Both our parents said it's totally our decision, but we don't know. We think we will, but we need good parenting tips. We've been married for about a year and a half so we're probably at a good stage to have one, but we need advice, so please help.
